Cub Scoutin'

Kyle was excited that his birthday fell on a Tuesday and he could share it with his Cub Scout Den. This month they've been working on planting and growing things, so this week they had a field trip to our house to plant some trees in our backyard. It's a good thing Greg pre-dug the holes because it was 111 degrees yesterday and they boys were red faced and sweating after a few shovelfulls of dirt! After they mixed in mulch, filled in around the trees and watered them we came inside for ice cream push ups. They all sang to Kyle, which made his day. Here are some fun pictures:

Ok, that looks to me like you are trying to plant the trees in sand!

Awsome! Too bad it couldn't have been weather like we had this weekend. It was so cold here in Phoenix, I don't know how Yuma was, but there were times it was in the 50's here, CRAZY!!!!! Happy B-day Kyle

Yeah, your guys' dirt looks like sand! That's way different than the clay dirt we have here-- blech!

111 degrees! I don't know how you do it. I can't handle the heat.
