Well, not to our house, but we are the proud owners of a steer. Greg took the boys up to a ranch and they purchased two calves, one for a friend, and we're keeping them on another friends' property. After a fairly rocky start, which included calves jumping over fences and Greg chasing one for a couple of miles at 11:00 at night, they've settled in pretty well. And who wouldn't, really, look how picturesque!
No, they're not pets, even though my boys named ours Prince Zuko. One day when he's huge and no longer cute, that steer will be stocking our extra freezer. Mmmm...Zuko burgers...

I love that your boys named your steer after an Avatar character. So funny! Although, with what your planning for the steer...Sokka might have been a better name. That kid is always eating. :)
