Fabulous Fourth of July

We had a great weekend this July 4th, spending the entire day on the beach! We drove to San Diego and spent time with Greg's sisters. Karissa graciously hosted our family plus my brother Michael. We got up early on Saturday, packed all our beach stuff and lots of food, and drove to Del Mar beach for the festivities. We got a great spot (after lugging all our stuff across the beach)and put up a shade. All day long we played in the sand, sunscreened, played in the water, and ate. There were some fun activities set up like a climbing wall, jumpy things, paintball target practice, and facepainting that we tried out as well. All the while there were bands playing. The fireworks weren't the best we've seen, but I loved hearing the patriotic music along with them. It was tons of fun and the kids were wiped out by the time we left. Sunday was church and hanging out together. It was fun seeing Camille and her kids as well. I'm so glad that the cousins get along well!
