Las Vegas: Vacation Part 1

On Monday evening we left for Las Vegas and made pretty good time since the kids fell asleep. We got to our resort (Tahiti Village) around midnight. We have a timeshare thing and the place is beautiful! Tuesday morning we played in the very awesome pool for several hours. After getting cleaned up we drove to Circus Circus and let the kids enjoy some rides there. We ate at the buffet (not impressed!) where the boys tried crayfish. Check out Ben's reaction below. We showed the boys some of the cool casinos (The Eiffel tower, Luxor pyramid, Statue of Liberty and Excalibur Castle were favorites) and watched the Treasure Island pirate show. Um, yeah - don't see that with your kids. I wish someone had warned us that it was pretty risque! We talked to our kids about modesty and such on our way back to our hotel. Wednesday morning was spent just like the day before, swimming and lounging by the pool. The kids loved the beach part and the many shallow areas for them. We spent the afternoon checking out the M&M store, the fountains at the Belagio, and the lions at MGM Grand. All very impressive. For dinner we ate at the Rain Forest Cafe, which my kids loved. Mia was a little apprehensive at first of the moving animals, but everyone else thought they were great. The next morning we packed up and drove, and drove, and drove. We stopped in Bountiful, UT where Greg's brother Robert and his wife Jamie live with their 4 kids. They had thoughtfully made us dinner and we enjoyed a couple hour pit stop. After promising the kids they'd see their cousins at the reunion, we drove the rest of the way to Rexburg where we met Greg's parents and the rest of his siblings at a campsite. They helped us set up our tent and we went to bed. Everyone was there but Karissa's hubby Jesse. Camille and Dwayne and their two kids Adelyn and Nolan; Karissa with Kymani and Keyshon; and Vanessa and David. Rob and Jamie came the next day with Brandon, Sean, Natalia and Alauna. It was fun to see everyone again.
